This popular gentle-paced discovery tour focuses on southern Morocco’s Sahara plateau region between Ouarzazate, Erfoud, Rissani and Agdz – completing a desert loop around the ancient volcanic mountains of the Jebel Saghro.
We include visits to several of the most dramatic Kasbahs and Ksars in the region, explore the Dades and Todra Gorges and spend time experiencing huge Saharan dunes at Erg Chebbi. This is a great circuit for those that enjoy earth's natural beauty.
ITINERARY

Day 1 – Arrive Marrakech
Tour starts in Marrakech with an evening visit to the highly animated Djemaa el Fna square, scene of acrobats, musicians and storytellers.
Day 2 – Discover Marrakech
A guided walking tour of Marrakech medina reveals Djemaa el Fna, Koutoubia, the historic Ben Youssef area and souks. Afterwards there’s time for independent sightseeing, or an optional caleche ride, cooking course or spa.

Day 3 – To Dades via Ouarzazate
A winding route ascends the Tizi n’Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains as we head to Ouarzazate, the ‘Gateway to the Sahara’. Continue along the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs to the oasis of Dades.
Day 4 – Explore Dades by 4x4
The palm-filled Dades region offers many off-beat trails – ideal for discovery in our robust 4x4. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing day.
Day 5 – East to the Sahara
Witness the contorted volcanic peaks of the Jebel Saghro and explore Todra Gorge as we enjoy a scenic journey east to reach Erfoud at the fringe of Morocco’s Sahara desert.
Day 6 – Sahara Adventure
Camel trek or 4x4 adventure to the big dunes at Erg Chebbi with option to sleep under the stars in a comfortable desert camp.

Day 7 – To Ouarzazate via Draa Valley
We enjoy a desolate drive on the south side of the Jebel Saghro Mountains through a quite dramatic barren desert landscape. We reach the palm-filled Draa Valley and head north to Ouarzazate via Agdz.

Day 8 – In Ouarzazate
Today we visit Taourirt Kasbah near Ouarzazate and have time to relax by the pool or visit the Atlas Film Studios.

Day 9 – To Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou
We visit the spectacular Ksar of Ait Benhaddou and Telouet Kasbah before descending the High Atlas to arrive back at Marrakech.

Day 10 – Tour ends in Marrakech
