Over two weeks this classic sightseeing tour combines the cultural treasures of the Imperial Cities of Marrakech, Rabat, Meknes and Fez with a journey through southern Morocco’s awe-inspiring Sahara desert region.

 

You'll also see the Anti Atlas and Taroudant before spending your last days relaxing on the Atlantic coast at Essaouira and in the High Atlas mountains. Luxury accommodations can be arranged at most places should you wish to upgrade and travel in style.

Highlights of Marrakech, Djemma El Fna
ITINERARY
​

Day 1 – Arrive Marrakech
Tour starts in Marrakech with an evening visit to the highly animated Djemaa el Fna square, scene of acrobats, musicians and storytellers.


Day 2 – Discover Marrakech
A guided walking tour of Marrakech medina reveals Djemaa el Fna, Koutoubia, the historic Ben Youssef area and souks. Afterwards there’s time for independent sightseeing, or an optional caleche ride, cooking course or spa.

Day 3 – To Rabat via Casablanca
Tour the Grand Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca and in Rabat see Hassan Tower, ruins of Chellah and Oudaya gardens.


Day 4 – Discover Meknes
Head east to Meknes to see Bab Mansour, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum and ancient walled medina.


Day 5 – To Fez via Roman Volubilis
We head for Fez via the holy town of Moulay Idriss and Roman world heritage site at Volubilis.


Day 6 – Full day tour of Fez
On a guided tour we’ll see the South Borj, Royal Palace and Mellah in Fez el Jedid, and the vast old walled city and tanneries of Fez el Bali.


Day 7 – South to the Sahara
After a long but very scenic journey south through the Middle Atlas we reach Erfoud in the Sahara.


Day 8 – Sahara Adventure
Camel trek or 4x4 to dunes at Erg Chebbi with optional night in camp.


Day 9 – Valley of 1000 Kasbahs
We traverse the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs to reach Dades Gorge.


Day 10 – Drive to Taroudant
Today we cross the Anti-Atlas to Taroudant and explore the walled medina.


Day 11 – To Essaouira via Immouzer
A scenic route leads to Immouzer waterfalls. Next we head north to Essaouira.

Day 12 – Exploring Essaouira
Explore Essaouira with its picturesque harbour, medina, souks and beach.


Day 13 – To Toubkal National Park
Today we drive to the High Atlas to a Berber village in Toubkal National Park.


Day 14 – High Atlas to Marrakech
Take an optional guided walk for views of Jebel Toubkal, before returning to Marrakech.


Day 15 – Tour ends in Marrakech
