On this action-packed 4x4 tour we experience the wilderness, wildlife, people and scenery of the Moroccan Sahara and Kasbah-lined Draa Valley.

 

We visit the dramatic World Heritage Ksar of Ait Benhaddou; explore the Sahara by camel and enjoy a starlit African sky in a comfortable desert camp at the remote dunes of Chegaga.

 

There's also plenty of time to discover the souks of Marrakech.

Highlights of Marrakech, Djemma El Fna
ITINERARY
​

Day 1 – Arrive Marrakech
Tour starts in Marrakech with an evening visit to the highly animated Djemaa el Fna square, scene of acrobats, musicians and storytellers.


Day 2 – Discover Marrakech
A guided walking tour of Marrakech medina reveals Djemaa el Fna, Koutoubia, the historic Ben Youssef area and souks. Afterwards there’s time for independent sightseeing, or an optional caleche ride, cooking course or spa.

Day 3 – Over the Atlas to Ait Benhaddou​

A winding route ascends the Tizi n’Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains as we journey to Telouet Kasbah and the World Heritage Ksar of Ait Benhaddou.


Day 4 – To Chegaga via Foum Zguid

A chance encounter with a camel caravan is possible as we cross the dry Iriki ancient lake on our journey to Chegaga dunes – Morocco’s most impressive expanse of Saharan desert wilderness


Day 5 – Sahara by 4x4 to Ouled Driss
After a camel ride in the dunes we follow sand tracks by 4x4 and enjoy a real Saharan adventure on a desert drive east to the remote outpost of M’hamid and nearby Draa Valley village of Ouled Driss.


Day 6 – In the Sahara

A day to relax, unwind and swim in our hotel pool. Your driver will be on call should you wish to explore the earth-built local villages and palm groves of the Draa.

Day 7 – Draa Valley to Marrakech

We traverse the beautiful Draa Valley as we make our way back to Marrakech. After crossing the volcanic Jebel Saghro Mountains we see Taourirt Kasbah near Ouarzazate.

Day 8 – Tour ends in Marrakech
